- Shape the future of research administration at the University of Kentucky by supporting the preparation, submission, and management of grants and contracts.
- Supervise and support a team of Research Administrators handling sponsored project activities.
- Independently review proposal budgets and forms for a portfolio of complex, multidisciplinary, multi‑PI proposals incorporating nonstandard sponsor requirements and restrictions.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of research administration, interpret and research complex and varied regulations, and provide guidance to faculty, staff, and colleagues.
- Communicate timely and professionally with a range of individuals, multitask and prioritize projects, maintain strong attention to detail, and demonstrate willingness to be a lifelong learner.
- Advanced degree (MA) in a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in research administration or related area.
- Strong knowledge of research regulations and grant submission processes.
- Ability to review complex grant budgets and forms.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Experience supervising a team of research administrators (supervisory responsibilities required).
- Eligibility for remote work and ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST.
- JD and experience in contract negotiation in a university‑sponsored projects office.
- Certified Research Administrator.
- Experience negotiating complex, multi‑PI sponsored projects.

OSPA administers over $480 million in extramural grants and contracts awarded through the University of Kentucky Research Foundation. Services include budgeting, proposal submission, award negotiation, sponsor policy interpretation, subcontract preparation, and Conflict of Interest policy administration for all UK faculty and staff.
