THE ROLE
Freelance Associate Director, Programmatic – responsible for leading programmatic strategy and delivering innovative, privacy‑first solutions for a portfolio of high‑profile accounts. The role focuses on driving account health, ensuring performance targets are met, and pushing the boundaries of automated media.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Steer programmatic strategy for high‑profile clients, aligning automated media buying with broader business and marketing objectives.
- Direct implementation of first‑ and third‑party data strategies, guiding clients through a cookie‑less future with identity solutions and privacy‑centric targeting.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating technical complexities into clear business value and growth opportunities.
- Lead evaluation and onboarding of new programmatic technology partners, including DSPs, SSPs, and Dynamic Creative Optimization platforms.
- Collaborate with Search, Social, and SEO leads to drive a Total Media approach, ensuring programmatic inventory complements other digital touchpoints.
- Identify and pitch proactive growth opportunities within your portfolio, contributing to the agency’s organic revenue through strategic expansion.
- Manage and mentor a team of Managers and Associates, overseeing tactical output and providing a clear path for professional development.
- 5–7 years of programmatic experience with a proven track record of strategic planning and account leadership within an agency setting.
- Deep knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem, including SSP dynamics, Header Bidding, Clean Rooms, and attribution modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in multiple DSPs (e.g., The Trade Desk, DV360, Amazon DSP, Walmart Connect) and Ad Servers (CM360).
- Leadership presence that influences cross‑functional teams and builds trust with senior client stakeholders.
- Analytical vision to interpret complex data sets, identify high‑level trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
- Proactive problem‑solving mindset with a “get sh
* t done” mentality for troubleshooting technical issues and industry shifts. - Cultural fit with a passion for collaboration and nurturing talent within the programmatic craft.
