$48,000 - $58,000 plus bonus program, Daytime hours only, Benefits package, paid vacation. Weekend availability is a must.

Major Purpose

To act as the Operations Manager who supports the mission, vision, and values of First Watch Restaurants through all that he/she does in their role daily.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding established sales, revenue, and profitability goals; move SLEBITDA positively.
  • Provide efficient and professional service to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Assist in the management of all revenues, cash or credit, and company collateral—properly deposited, accounted for, and secured in the company’s operating bank account.
  • Ensure the integrity and operational functionality of all POS and security systems and equipment.
  • Manage all internal and external communications in a timely and effective manner.
  • Guide front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house team members to meet established objectives.
  • Ensure restaurant equipment is in satisfactory working order, maintaining usability and cleanliness.
  • Maintain safe working conditions as required by OSHA and governing bodies.
  • Communicate with management, employees, and customers, providing positive feedback and promoting a positive image and morale.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities of all positions, train and develop other managers and hourly employees.
  • Counsel and coach employees; exercise authority to suspend or discharge employees for serious misconduct per Employee Handbook.
  • Evaluate hourly staff formally with General Manager.
  • Evaluate hourly employees continuously using weekly schedule.
  • Lead a shift effectively, using Daily Shift Card and Red Book.
  • Train staff in proper EOD procedures, including check‑out procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, harassment‑free workplace.
  • Resolve problems quickly and responsibly; use good judgment with disciplinary issues.
  • Complete required paperwork timely.
  • Prepare and post weekly work schedules; ensure proper implementation.
  • Address violations from Health or Steritech Inspections promptly.
  • Safeguard company assets—funds, equipment, facility; take appropriate action as needed.
  • Assist in completing payroll (weekly, mid‑period, EOP) administration properly.
  • Promote First Watch outside the restaurant.
  • Obtain and maintain safe food handler certifications.
  • Handle customer and staff incidents, accidents, injuries, and complaints in a timely, efficient manner through communication with General Manager, Regional Manager, and Home Office.
  • Interview applicants for employment; assist in hiring decisions and include other managers in the process.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, local, and state laws, company policies, and procedures.
Authority & Limits

The Operations Manager acts within company policy and applicable legislation; however, without approval of the RVP, the Operations Manager may not:

  • Commit the company to any budgeted expenditure exceeding $500, or sign any lease contracts or legal agreements.
  • Dispose of any capital asset.
  • Revise the organizational structure of any department/area.
  • Enter into a relationship with any employee that may adversely affect ability to carry out responsibilities.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma.
  • Completion of the CAFE program.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a service‑oriented hospitality industry (hotel, resort, restaurant, retail, entertainment venue).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Regularly works 50–55 hours per week.
  • Valid driver’s license; drives for company business as required.
  • Regularly works in the kitchen, leading, training, and coaching culinary duties.
  • Regularly works in the dining room, leading, training, and coaching host and service functions.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial management principles with focus on budgeting and forecasting revenue goals.
  • Human Resources management skills in employee relations, recruiting, retention, and employee recognition.
  • Ability to supervise and lead employees.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and determine task priorities.
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with emphasis on MS operating systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
