Experience with federal government grantsWe’re looking for someone experienced with federal government grants who enjoys helping mission-driven programs navigate grant requirements while maximizing community impact.
Position SummaryThe Grants Manager researches and facilitates the writing of successful grant proposals, outcomes, and reports to funders and internal sources. This team member collaborates with internal subject matter experts and assists with the overall implementation of the grant life cycle.
Job Duties- Coordinate, write, edit, and proofread grant proposals as assigned.
- Research and facilitate the writing of successful grant proposals and outcome reporting to government and non-government funders.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to facilitate the development of competitive proposals and manage grant outcome reporting.
- Serve as an essential member of a cross-functional team dedicated to overseeing grants throughout the entire life cycle for assigned LFS programs.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with subject matter experts and staff at all levels.
- Coordinate and facilitate grant development sessions.
- Create grant budgets in collaboration with subject matter experts and the Finance team.
- Facilitate the collection, preparation, assembly, and submission of proposal documents.
- Ensure the grant process is followed from pre- to post-award and closeout, including grant kick‑off, reporting, and closeout meetings.
- Ensure a clear understanding of grant reporting and compliance timelines.
- Track outcome achievement and reporting requirements in collaboration with grant owners.
- Collaborate with project directors to obtain grant outcome data and other program information to complete reports.
- Provide regular reports to funders including government entities, United Way, corporations, foundations, etc.
- Work with the finance department and leadership to ensure financial reporting is complete for all reports.
- Manage award tracking and data in the grant management database.
- Other related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of grant lifecycle stages, including pre‑award review, grant progress monitoring, and award closure.

- Ability to work positively and productively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Awareness and sensitivity of the constituents and populations served by employees.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Human Services, Business Administration, Finance, or another related field is required (equivalent work experience may be considered).
- At least 1 year of experience in grant writing and/or grant administration.
- Fiscal management and budgeting experience preferred.
- Non‑profit experience preferred.
- Experience working with government and foundation grants preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities in a flexible and customer‑centric manner.
- Work at a computer screen for hours at a time.
- Hybrid work environment (remote work with office attendance as needed).
- Travel to various office locations to support subject matter experts and ensure a clear understanding of agency‑wide activities, as needed and as applicable by region.
