Regulatory Compliance Specialist
We are seeking a Medicaid Specialist to support our clients through the full lifecycle of Georgia Medicaid eligibility
, including intake, documentation gathering, application preparation, submission, follow‑up, and appeals. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who understands Georgia DFCS processes
, Medicaid long‑term care eligibility rules
, and the practical realities of navigating state systems.
This is a part‑time, hybrid position based in Alpharetta, Georgia, with flexibility for remote work and periodic in‑office collaboration.
ResponsibilitiesCase Review — Evaluate client circumstances, financials, and supporting documents to determine Medicaid eligibility pathways (ABD, LTC, QMB, CCSP, etc.). Understands nursing home Medicaid and the Georgia Waiver program.
Documentation Management — Identify required records, request missing items, organize submissions, and maintain compliance-ready files. Assists clients in gathering the appropriate documents.
Georgia Medicaid Application Filing — Prepare and submit applications through Georgia Gateway, DFCS, or other required channels. Tracks the application through the system, supplementing with additional information when needed.
Communication With Agencies — Track case status, respond to DFCS requests, and ensure timely follow‑up and updates counsel and client as directed.
Appeals & Fair Hearings — Draft appeal requests, prepare supporting evidence, and assist counsel with hearing preparation when a denial occurs.
Client Support — Provide clear, empathetic guidance to clients and families navigating complex eligibility issues. Problem solves and gently guides the client.
Compliance & Confidentiality — Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA, DFCS rules, and the firm's internal practice standards.
Qualifications* Demonstrated experience with Georgia Medicaid eligibility
, DFCS workflows, and Gateway submissions
* Strong understanding of income/asset rules
, spend‑down strategies, and documentation requirements
* Ability to manage multiple cases with accuracy and urgency
* Excellent communication skills with clients, agencies, and internal team members
* Familiarity with long‑term care planning, special needs planning, and estate planning and how they all work together to provide the best client experience
* Computer literacy, experience in a law firm environment, high professionalism and discretion
Schedule and Compensation- Part‑time (10–25 hours/week depending on caseload)
- Hybrid — combination of remote work and periodic in‑office days in Georgia
