Overview
As part of Akamai's Cloud Technology Group (CTG), our mission is to empower customers to build powerful, distributed intelligent applications through a simple, scalable, cloud platform. In this role, you will work with global public‑sector customers, sales, engineering and business development teams to solve critical public sector problems. You will lead the product vision, strategy and execution for our Public Sector vertical to deliver impactful outcomes.
Responsibilities- Define and execute the product vision and strategy for Pub Sec cloud offerings, existing products, and new development for State, Local, Education, Federal Civilian, DoD and international frameworks.
- Increase revenue growth by leading execution across teams, collaborating with engineering, legal, compliance, marketing and sales to meet roadmap objectives.
- Lead and scale the product management function, operating strategically and tactically, with opportunity for long‑term business ownership.
- Establish customer and business‑centric KPIs, build business cases, and drive product performance, adoption and customer impact.
- Partner directly with sales and customers (including travel) to support go‑to‑market efforts and solution positioning.
- 15+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience defining and executing product strategies for the US Public Sector, including vision setting, stakeholder alignment and cross‑functional execution.
- Proven ability to build, scale and monetize product lines, with measurable revenue growth and organizational impact.
- Experience leading product management within the US public sector focused on cloud infrastructure and security.
- Enjoy operating in a matrixed organization and aligning stakeholders through clear communication, collaboration and influential leadership.
- Experience managing and mentoring individual contributors, with the ability to grow and scale a team over time.
- Customer‑centric, applying problem‑solving mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
- U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance (interim Secret considered) or ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

The base salary ranges from $190,700–$343,300 per year, with additional incentive compensation, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Benefits include healthcare, 401(k), holidays, PTO, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
