Editorial Data Reporting Intern
As an Editorial Data Reporting Intern, you will contribute to original, data-driven journalism that helps readers better understand trends and developments across the legal system. During this 10-week internship, you will work closely with Law
360's data team, editors, and reporters to research, analyze, and present data in clear and compelling ways. This role offers hands-on experience producing enterprise reporting in a collaborative newsroom environment. By the end of the internship, you will produce a data-driven feature story for publication on our site.

Recent graduates who have completed an undergraduate or graduate program.

Responsibilities
- Research and develop at least one original, data-focused enterprise story for publication during the internship.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, insights, and support ongoing editorial projects.
- Contribute to data gathering, cleaning, and interpretation from multiple sources, including public records.
- Collaborate with reporters and editors to integrate data into news and feature stories and shape story ideas.
- Support the creation of data visualizations for stories and special projects.
Requirements
- Be a recent graduate with a bachelor's or master's degree in data journalism, communications, or a related field of study.
- Experience working with and incorporating data into news or feature stories (academic, internship, or personal projects).
- Demonstrate the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data from diverse sources, including public records.
- Experience cleaning and organizing complex or messy datasets.
- Possess working knowledge of data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, and/or R.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a strong narrative and visual storytelling ability.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with editors and reporters.
Pay Rate: $28.85 per hour
