Business Development, Client Relationship Manager
Responsibilities
- Build and own market strategy for McKinstry’s Technical Services Integrated Solutions focusing on higher education and healthcare.
- Manage larger contracts for complex customers with an emphasis on optimizing and maintaining facility assets.
- Conduct SWOT analysis and competitive analysis related to Technical Services Integrated Solutions strategies and market development.
- Develop, motivate and inspire high‑performing sales teams.
- Maintain sales forecast models, report potential business risk elements, and participate in mitigation efforts.
- Create and deliver processes, standards, and communication channels to increase efficiency.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, associations, and organizations in regional or vertical markets.
- Partner with clients to prioritize and solve problems while driving efficiencies.
- Guide clients through energy efficiency project financing and contracting processes.
- Utilize McKinstry’s tools and processes to support customer‑relationship strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 10‑15 years of Built Environment experience. Knowledge of building infrastructure systems, facility management, and critical facilities (Higher Education and/or Healthcare) is required.
- Financial/performance contracting experience, including previous leadership, sales, and marketing with an energy services or related organization, with responsibilities for identifying leads, closing sales, and providing oversight to a project implementation team.
- Demonstrated experience positioning a solution in the marketplace and building a team to execute strategy.
- Established relationships with industry leaders, associations, and organizations in regional or vertical markets that align with McKinstry business goals.
- Technical aptitude with delivery of programs and a C‑suite seller DNA. Has “owned” their business segment and demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or equivalent business experience is required. Energy/ESCO experience is a plus.
