Role OverviewThe Director, Field Excellence & Operations leads the design, execution and continuous optimization of field strategy and Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) across Ferring Pharmaceuticals. The role serves as the enterprise subject‑matter expert for Field Excellence, driving the framework behind segmentation, targeting, territory alignment, call planning, CRM governance and omnichannel field enablement, while directly supporting SFE execution and translating strategic priorities into field action.
Responsibilities- Design and evolve field deployment strategy, including sizing, structure, and resource allocation to align with business priorities and market dynamics.
- Own end‑to‑end segmentation, targeting, and call planning, ensuring field efforts focus on highest‑value opportunities and brand strategy.
- Drive territory alignment and deployment optimization, balancing workload, opportunity, and coverage for maximum effectiveness.
- Conduct and interpret field analytics (productivity assessments, ROI analysis) and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Integrate multiple data sources—IQVIA, DDD, Exponent, LAAD, claims, and SP data—to build comprehensive market and field performance insights.
- Partner with the analytics team to secure robust data inputs and own business interpretation for field execution.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives with Marketing, IT, Data Governance, and external vendors to operationalize SFE strategies and ensure seamless execution.
- Establish strong partnerships with Sales Leadership at all levels to identify and implement field performance improvements.
- Engage directly with field teams to gather insights, challenge processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead the development and execution of field‑focused Commercial Excellence initiatives that increase productivity, simplify processes, and enhance overall effectiveness.
- Monitor and improve systems—CRM governance, data quality, DCR processes—to support field needs and drive high adoption.
- Implement omnichannel readiness strategies, ensuring the field can engage customers across multiple channels.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Force Effectiveness and Customer Engagement teams, building capabilities and preparing future leaders.
- 12+ years in pharmaceutical commercial operations, field operations, or Sales Force Effectiveness.
- Proven experience managing and developing teams.
- Deep expertise in SFE, segmentation, territory alignment, and field analytics.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical data sources: IQVIA, DDD, Exponent, LAAD, claims, and Specialty Pharmacy data.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable field strategies.
- Experience partnering closely with Sales Leadership, engaging directly with field teams.
- Experience bridging business, IT, and Data teams.
- Experience supporting or leading CRM and commercial system implementations.
- Experience in lean, high‑ownership environments.
- Preferred:
Oncology or specialty pharmaceutical experience; product launch or growth‑stage brand support. - Advanced degree or MBA.
- Track record of building and executing Sales Force Effectiveness capabilities.
- Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Strong understanding of field dynamics and commercial execution.
- Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment.
- Success in leading teams and developing talent.
- High potential for broader leadership within Commercial Operations.
- Base salary range: $150,450 – $279,406.
- Annual incentive compensation targets with bonus payouts based on individual and company performance.
