Position Overview

Closets by Design is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Cut Lister / Installation Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our custom storage and cabinetry projects move smoothly from design through production and installation. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, computer savvy, comfortable working with spreadsheets and data, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This position works closely with the Product Manager, Office Manager, installers, service technicians, and office staff to coordinate installations, manage inventory, prepare production documentation, and maintain accurate customer records.

Key Responsibilities Production & Cut Listing
  • Prepare and generate cut lists for custom closet, garage, pantry, home office, and cabinetry projects.
  • Review design specifications and production requirements for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the Product Manager to ensure all materials and components are properly accounted for before production.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving production-related issues prior to manufacturing.
Installation & Service Coordination
  • Schedule installation and service appointments with customers and installation teams.
  • Coordinate project timelines to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate installation schedules, changes, and updates to customers and field staff.
  • Monitor project progress and assist in resolving scheduling conflicts.
Inventory & Purchasing
  • Order materials, hardware, and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain inventory records and monitor stock levels.
  • Track incoming materials and ensure availability for upcoming projects.
  • Assist with vendor communication and purchasing activities.
Administrative & Customer File Management
  • Scan and organize customer documents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer files for installations and service work.
  • Ensure all paperwork, contracts, and project documentation are properly filed and accessible.
  • Assist with general office administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, cabinetry, construction, or woodworking is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience in scheduling, production coordination, inventory management, or project coordination is preferred.
