Client Relationship Manager
About this Opportunity
As an Elite Client Advocate you will be a deeply embedded client-facing individual contributor. This role operates as a true extension of the client’s home office by developing deep knowledge of the client’s processes, technology, people, and strategic priorities. The Elite Client Advocate is responsible for knowing the client better than anyone else and ensuring their day‑to‑day experience with Orion is seamless, proactive, and built on trust.
This role does not manage the pod; instead, it carries the dedicated client relationship while the Elite Client Delivery Manager coordinates internal operations and team delivery. The incumbent will work on a hybrid basis, with three (3) or more days each week required on‑site at one of the listed office locations. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance to an office.
Internal candidates currently aligned to an Orion office location may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.
- Embed deeply into the client's firm structure, processes, tech stack, KPIs, and strategic goals and operate as a true extension of their team, not a vendor contact.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the firm's organizational chart, key decision‑makers, operational workflows, and growth trajectory.
- Serve as the client's internal Orion champion that advocates for their enhancement requests, escalations, and priorities across product, data, and delivery teams.
- Build trusted relationships with day‑to‑day client contacts at the operations and leadership level.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all client‑facing needs; operational, technical, and relationship‑related.
- Own the client‑facing side of escalations: communicate proactively, provide status updates, and ensure the client always knows where things stand.
- Partner with the Elite Client Delivery Manager to route issues internally and maintain visibility on all open items until resolution.
- Maintain a living record of client configuration, preferences, known issues, and historical context ensuring continuity is never dependent on memory or personnel changes.
- Ensure the client's voice is represented accurately in every internal discussion affecting their account.
- Has a Bachelor’s degree as required.
- Has a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in senior client‑facing roles at the intersection of enterprise financial services and technology.
- Can embed in a complex client environment and be treated as a trusted extension of that team, not a vendor.
- Has technical depth to understand reconciliation breaks, data feeds, platform configuration, and API behavior, without needing to be a developer.
- Has strong written and verbal communication and is comfortable in executive‑facing conversations and governance reviews, and skilled at translating technical issues for non‑technical clients.
- Has deep familiarity with the wealth management ecosystem: custodians, portfolio accounting, data aggregation, M&A onboarding, and the operational lifecycle of an enterprise RIA or BD.
- Can manage multiple client priorities.
- Is willing to travel up to 5% annually as required.
- Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and works effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
