As an Industry Automation Consultant, you’ll be responsible for working with both internal and external partners to provide Life and Annuity industry data file support for Brighthouse’s distributor and vendor partners such as DTCC and DST. This role reports to the Manager of Industry Automation and will take a lead role in overseeing projects from an Industry Automation perspective.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include working with internal and external partners to solicit feedback, gather requirements, perform user acceptance testing, and collaborate with project partners to ensure requirements are translated, designed, and deployed as expected. In addition, you will support ongoing production data files, execute daily automation responsibilities, and work with distributors, vendors, and internal business partners to answer questions and troubleshoot production issues.
Inthis role, you’ll get to
- Serve as subject matter expert for industry automation processes, data files, and technology.
- Work with internal partners during the introduction of new life and annuity products, system enhancements, system conversions, or industry projects to develop, implement, and test requirements.
- Work with external distribution partners impacted by Brighthouse projects to identify requirements, communicate external impacts, and test distributor‑specific requirements.
- Provide support for ongoing production files, including researching questions and issues, identifying and resolving file defects, and supporting day‑to‑day activities.
- Possess a strong understanding of Brighthouse technology and industry trends and usage of data files.
- Attend and participate on industry calls and meetings as a representative of Brighthouse.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes to increase efficiency.
- Establish working relationships with distributors and vendor partners to engage and liaison when support is needed to meet Brighthouse Financial requirements.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the insurance industry and knowledge of life and annuity products, with a focus on new business and post‑issue processes.
- Preferred 2 years of experience with business requirement development, user acceptance testing, and project management skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with annuity and life industry files utilized by vendors such as DTCC and DST.
- Comfortable working on a dynamic team with shifting responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills—oral and written communications, relationship building, collaboration, influencing, negotiation, and conflict mediation across a broad range of levels.
- Analytical capabilities and business judgment; ability to operate effectively in the face of ambiguity.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Compensation – Base salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 plus competitive performance‑based incentives determined by company and individual results.
- Flexible Work Environment – Work remotely or in the office.
