Global Macroeconomic Specialist | Part-Time Contract Role (Hybrid & Remote Options Available) Position Summary

Our team is hiring a sharp, adaptable research specialist to track global economic changes alongside cross-border geopolitical developments. You will break down cross-border trade and capital investment trends, and turn raw market data into clear, actionable strategic guidance to advance our international business initiatives.

This temporary part-time contractor role offers flexible hybrid and fully remote work arrangements. It is an ideal fit for analytical professionals with solid macroeconomic expertise and an in-depth understanding of political systems and regulatory frameworks shaping global market outcomes.

Key Accountabilities
  • Monitor real-time developments across major global economies, including core macro indicators, central bank policy shifts, international trade policies, and cross-border capital flow trends.
  • Track political transformations and regulatory updates that alter business operating landscapes, such as national election cycles, international sanction regimes, regulatory overhauls, cross-border trade disputes, and bilateral or multilateral diplomatic changes.
  • Evaluate combined economic and geopolitical risk exposures, and deliver practical analysis covering supply chain fragilities, global direct investment, energy and commodity markets, and cross-border trade flows.
  • Compile daily market brief memos, weekly trend recaps, and in-depth full-length research reports analyzing global markets through both economic and geopolitical lenses.
  • Identify emerging disruptive risks related to trade, foreign exchange, industry regulation and geopolitics early on, issue timely risk alerts, and develop concrete mitigation strategies.
  • Build, refine and maintain integrated monitoring tools and regional market intelligence databases that consolidate economic, political and regulatory datasets.
Candidate Profile Mandatory Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Global Affairs, Political Economy, International Business, Finance, or related fields.
  • Broad working knowledge of the global macroeconomic landscape, with strong instincts for trade policy design, monetary policy management, foreign exchange markets and cross-border capital investments.
  • Functional understanding of governance structures across key economies, including policy development pipelines, evolving regulatory priorities, sanction implementation rules, and geopolitical hazards that shape corporate strategic choices.
  • Strong logical reasoning and quantitative analysis skills, able to lead end-to-end independent research projects autonomously.
  • Exceptional written and reading English proficiency, capable of synthesizing key takeaways from global financial media, central bank statements, official policy documents and peer-reviewed academic papers.
  • Documented portfolio of formal research writings that combine economic and geopolitical contextual analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands‑on industry experience at multinational corporations, financial services firms, strategy consulting groups, international trading companies or government-affiliated research bodies.
  • Previous work experience at economic and geopolitical research institutes, independent think tanks, internal corporate strategy teams or risk consulting firms.
  • Deep regional specialization in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America or the Asia‑Pacific, supported by a portfolio of completed regional political and economic assessment reports.
Working Terms & Remuneration
  • Engagement Type:
    Part‑time independent contractor agreement
  • Work Setting:
Hybrid in‑office and remote work options
  • Pay Structure:
Competitive hourly or project‑based compensation, scaled to candidate professional experience
  • Initial Contract Duration:
Six months, renewable upon mutual agreement
  • Start Date:

    Negotiable based on candidate availability
