Job Overview

Center for Brain Health at The University of Texas at Dallas is looking to add to our Optimal Brain Health for Warfighters team an individual who is motivated, inspiring, with a people‑first mindset to deliver the Center’s proprietary brain health and performance tools. The position will serve as a Brain Health subject‑matter expert, working with a former‑military subject‑matter expert to deliver in‑person SMART seminars to active duty military, score and debrief these individuals on the Brain Health Index, and provide ongoing coaching of strategy implementation as warranted.

The role will require relationship‑building, professional follow‑up with stakeholders, and travel.

• Deliver and facilitate in‑person SMART seminars, serving as brain health SME
• Collect and synthesize SMART participant feedback, reporting to the Project Director
• Complete train‑the‑trainer for SMART and pass facilitator competency evaluation
• Coach military service members, support personnel, and spouses on implementation of SMART strategies
• Debrief military service members, support personnel, and spouses on Brain Health Index performance
• Demonstrate competency in Brain Health Index debriefing and score online Brain Health Indexes
• Utilize the Brain Health dashboard for online content
• Collaborate with team and partner organizations to implement or incorporate Brain Health tools into existing service structure
• Collaborate with program team to establish a long‑term roadmap for sustained engagement
• Travel to command or partner sites for onsite engagement
• Communicate with embedded providers and military leadership in written and oral format
• Report to Program Director and Operations Officer, ensuring routine updates on progress
• Develop and maintain relationships within the community to sustain engagement

Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Master’s degree in speech‑language pathology, psychology, human performance, sports psychology, or a related field; 3‑year experience working with adults in a coaching or rehabilitation setting; understanding of or willingness to learn about the military community, including operational tempo, opportunities, obstacles, and cultural norms.

Candidate must be able to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure if the position requires access to such infrastructure, as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code.

Frequent out‑of‑state travel for meetings and trainings is mandatory. Work is performed in an office and training facility environment. Long hours are required on a computer.

Hybrid remote work environment is available. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment may be required. The candidate must be located within the DFW area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours’ notice.
