The impact you'll make in this role
As a Contract Specialist you'll work alongside sharp, inquisitive minds from a wide spectrum of backgrounds and disciplines. Together, you'll explore new ideas, challenge assumptions, and shape solutions that make a real-world impact by:
- Assisting in the preparation, development, and processing of commercial contracts, amendments, and pricing agreements.
- Compiling, tracking, and analyzing data for completion of requests for proposals and ad-hoc reporting.
- Ensuring contract compliance, accurate pricing, reporting, and maintaining up-to-date group membership information.
- Analyzing contract sales and calculating all applicable administrative fees.
- Maintaining contract agreement templates and workflow documentation, and supporting all policies related to contract activity.
- Implementing new processes and procedures as identified by the team and stakeholders to ensure continuous improvements for monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
- Helping lead our mission to protect Solventum by collaborating with our key stakeholders and business partners to develop new strategies.
As a Contract Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Reviewing, analyzing, and editing contract language to address business needs while protecting Solventum and minimizing risk.
- Providing counsel to business teams on various contracting methodologies and strategies.
- Consulting others regarding Solventum business practices and policies as they relate to or impact contracting.
- Preparing for, and facilitating, contract negotiations.
- Calculating commercial administration fees.
- Understanding and utilizing systems and data to support business objectives and to fulfill contract requirements.
- Creating ad hoc reports; extracting and analyzing raw data to provide information requested by sales team, such as customer verification, product and pricing agreements, sales volumes, etc.
- Understanding the impact of various changes in contractual language and the ability to discuss those changes with impacted internal teams and management.
- Initiating contract implementation.
- Working collaboratively and effectively with a highly matrixed team to meet compressed timelines.
- Working with internal clients and external customers to reach resolutions to complex and nuanced issues.
Your skills and expertise
These are the core capabilities and experiences essential to make an impact:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution and
- Five (5) years' experience in business, technical, and/or legal contracting.

- Knowledge of the healthcare industry in the United States.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Good communications skills (verbal, written, presentation) with an ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact with both internal and external customers, with a focus on customer service.
- Proven capability to collaborate across functions and internal structures.
- A passion to solve what matters.
