This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Contracting Specialist based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support complex U.S. federal government contracting activities within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
The Contracting Specialist will play a key role in managing contract administration, compliance, pricing support, and project setup activities.
Working across program management, finance, and operations teams, this position helps ensure successful execution of federal contracts and task orders.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, independent, and experienced in navigating federal acquisition requirements.

The role provides the flexibility of a remote work environment while contributing to important public-sector initiatives.

Accountabilities

The Contracting Specialist will oversee federal contract operations and provide critical support throughout the contract lifecycle. This role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of government contracting regulations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.

  • Administer U.S. federal prime contracts, task orders, modifications, and related contractual documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific contracting requirements.
  • Support proposal development activities, including pricing analysis, Basis of Estimates (BOEs), cost volumes, and financial reviews.
  • Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project structures within accounting or ERP systems.
  • Track contract deliverables, funding levels, periods of performance, and contractual obligations.
  • Interpret contract terms and provide practical guidance to internal teams regarding compliance requirements.
  • Support subcontract administration activities, including subcontract compliance, flow-down requirements, and execution of subcontract actions.
  • Partner with program management, finance, and operations teams to coordinate reporting, documentation, and contract-related needs.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings hands-on federal contracting experience, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in U.S. federal contract administration or subcontract management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal contracting processes, including FAR requirements and compliance practices.
  • Experience supporting pricing activities, cost analysis, financial reviews, or related modeling.
  • Practical experience with WBS creation, project setup, and contract structure management.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in a small business or agile environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DCAA compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Knowledge of systems such as JAMIS Prime, Costpoint, Unanet, or similar ERP platforms is preferred.
  • Experience supporting proposals, BOE development, or government contract bids is advantageous.
