The Business Intelligence Manager leads the firm’s business intelligence function, ensuring competitive, market, and performance insights directly support growth strategy and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Business Development (MBD) Operations & Transformation, this role partners closely with Business Development (BD) and firm leadership to translate growth priorities into structured insight, scalable reporting frameworks, and measurable outcomes. The Manager oversees the Business Intelligence Analyst and is responsible for building disciplined, decision-oriented intelligence processes that elevate strategic conversations across the department.
Key Responsibilities:Business Development Partnership & Growth Activation
- Partner with BD leadership to clarify the decision or action intelligence will inform before work begins.
- Embed in strategic growth initiatives, including major pursuits, account planning, market expansion efforts, and win/loss reviews.
- Translate competitive, client, and market intelligence into clear implications and actionable recommendations.
- Prioritize intelligence efforts based on growth impact and firm strategy.
- Lead competitor monitoring, market analysis, and benchmarking initiatives aligned to firm priorities.
- Partner with Research Services to leverage subject‑matter research capabilities, ensuring insights are synthesized and translated into actionable growth recommendations.
- Develop standardized intelligence frameworks, templates, and AI‑enabled workflows to ensure consistency, quality, and scalability.
- Shift the function from ad‑hoc research to proactive, forward‑looking insight delivery.
- Define performance metrics that measure growth effectiveness across BD and Marketing.
- In partnership with MBD Tech, design and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI or similar platforms) that provide leadership visibility into pipeline health, pursuit performance, and strategic initiatives.
- Establish clear metric definitions and reporting standards to ensure consistency across outputs.
- Identify patterns and trends across data sources to inform decision‑making.
- Partner cross‑functionally to ensure data inputs support meaningful analysis (without owning system administration).
- Lead rollout of new intelligence intake models, prioritization frameworks, and reporting standards.
- Drive adoption of new processes through clear communication, training, and reinforcement.
- Establish governance standards and KPIs tied to business impact.
- Continuously evaluate and refine intelligence processes to improve effectiveness and scalability.
- Manage and develop the Business Intelligence Analyst, setting clear priorities and performance expectations.
- Elevate analytical rigor, synthesis, and executive‑ready communication across the function.
- Build a culture of accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement.
This role requires 60% in office presence; remote work is permissible 40% of the time.
Qualifications:- 8+ years of experience in business intelligence, competitive intelligence, analytics, or related field (professional services preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data and research into strategic recommendations.
- Experience developing reporting frameworks and growth performance metrics.
- Experience designing and building dashboards using Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of data structure, visualization best practices, and metric design; deep technical development expertise not required.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience incorporating AI tools into research and reporting workflows preferred.

Physical Demands:This position requires sitting or standing for long periods of time and the continuous operation of standard office equipment, such as computers, keyboards and phones. The salary range for this position in each office location is:
- Boston, Washington, D.C.: $150,000- $170,000
- NY: $160,000-$180,000
- This position is bonus eligible. Mintz offers a comprehensive benefits package.
