Part-Time, Paid Development & Production Intern Position Overview
The Alliance for Health Policy is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Development & Production Intern to support the planning and execution of our in-person and virtual educational events and support our development and community engagement efforts.
This internship pays $18.50/hour and provides hands-on experience in event logistics, production workflows, audience engagement, and nonprofit program operations.
The intern will work closely with the Events & Production Coordinator and the broader development and production team to help deliver high-quality convenings for policymakers, experts, and stakeholders. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in event management, health policy engagement, communications, or technical event production.
This hybrid role requires the intern to be in the Washington, D.C. office two days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), with a remote work option on other days. Interns are expected to work an average of 20 hours per week, with increased hours to support events as applicable.
Some early mornings or evenings may be required to support events.
This is a part-time, temporary position with an anticipated start date of September 15 and end date of December 17, 2026. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by August 17, 2026.
This position reports to the Events & Production Coordinator.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Production & Logistics Support
- Assist with preparation and set up for virtual and in-person events, including webinars, briefings, and panel discussions.
- Support the drafting of logistics materials such as run-of-show documents, prep memos, slide decks, and on-site checklists.
- Help coordinate speaker logistics, including scheduling prep calls, gathering materials, and confirming event details.
- Provide on-the-ground or virtual support during live events—including registration check-in, AV assistance, timekeeping, and audience engagement tasks.
- Help update and maintain project management boards (e.g., ) and event tracking documents.
Recruitment & Outreach Assistance
- Assist with compiling invitation lists for panelists, experts, and audience members.
- Help send and track event invitations and RSVPs.
- Support the preparation and distribution of post-event thank-you messages and audience follow-up.
Project Reporting & Evaluation
- Help compile event metrics such as attendance counts, audience quotes, poll results, and survey feedback.
- Contribute to post-event reporting summaries for internal use and funder documentation.
- Assist with maintaining event calendars, timelines, and internal communications channels.
Production & Content Support
- Support development of on-site materials, including name badges, agenda sheets, signage, and digital assets.
- Aid with troubleshooting basic technical issues on virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom or Go To Webinar ) under staff supervision.
- Conduct light research related to event topics, audiences, or logistics as needed.
Donor & Community Experience Support
- Support the Coordinator, Donor & Community Experience in stewarding key donors, sponsors, and community partners throughout their engagement with Alliance programs.
- Assist with preparing tailored materials for donor-supported events, including briefing packets, recognition elements, and follow-up communications.
- Help track donor and sponsor participation across programs to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience.
- Support onsite or virtual touchpoints with donors and sponsors during events, helping ensure seamless logistics and positive engagement.
- Assist in maintaining records, notes, and outreach data related to donor and community interactions to support coordinated relationship management.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree. Communications, Political Science, Event Management, Public Relations, Public Policy, or a related field preferred.
