Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager supporting Auxiliary Services for the Office of the Chief Operations Officer, this role is responsible for supporting the recruiting, hiring and labor scheduling function for union, student and temporary employees within the division. The role will serve as a liaison with department operating leaders to gather staffing business needs for each assigned unit/location and/or event and execute the hiring and scheduling of employees, in accordance with all applicable union contract language, to fulfill operational needs.
Additionally, the position is responsible for entering payroll for each assigned area and facilitating operating leadership approval of weekly wages.
This role also supports departmental training initiates and process efficiency projects.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or human resources preferred. Two (2) or more years of experience in food services industry, dining,restaurant or hospitality setting; higher education setting work experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
Proficiency with ERP systems (People Soft, SAP , Workday etc.); electronic labor scheduling and payrollsystems. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook), Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset. Experience with process efficiency staffing modeling.
Responsibilities
- Assign union, student and temporary labor to weekly location and/or event schedule in accordance with all union contract language. Soliciting union employees in seniority order for voluntary overtime shifts.
- Liaise with operating leaders to schedule and lead weekly staffing needs meetings and ensure continuity of service within the department. Track an analyze staffing data to respond to business trends.
- Assume payroll responsibilities to include entering payroll for union, tempo and student employees and facilitating operating leadership’s approval of weekly wages. Ensure compliance with all union contract language for overtime wages paid.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources Department to support recruiting an hiring for all union, student and temporary labor needs within the division.
- Develop process improvement ideas to support efficient operations within labor scheduling function in each operational area and support all training initiatives.
