As an intern at Evernorth Health Services, you will work alongside ambitious and compassionate experts who help navigate the regulatory environment that supports healthcare delivery across the country. This 10-week internship offers meaningful, hands‑on experience, exposure to cross‑functional teams, and the opportunity to contribute to projects that support compliance, operational excellence, and client success.

You will gain insight into the healthcare and pharmacy benefits management industry while building skills that prepare you for future career opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to projects that strengthen regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and operational effectiveness across multiple Regulated Markets functions.
  • Analyze healthcare and regulatory information to help identify potential impacts, risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support audit preparation and case research by gathering information, validating findings, and documenting outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teams supporting audit support, grievances, clinical consultation, coverage determination and review, issue management, and regulatory processes.
  • Participate in health plan and regulatory forums to understand industry changes and how regulations influence business decisions.
  • Research and respond to client or business requests related to regulatory impacts, issue resolution, and process improvement.
  • Build relationships across teams while learning how regulatory decisions influence healthcare services, customer experiences, and business operations.
  • Leverage technology, data, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, analyze information, and support clearer business recommendations.
  • Apply knowledge gained throughout the internship to deliver meaningful project outcomes and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
  • Rising senior progressing towards a bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, health policy, regulatory affairs, business.
  • Minimum 1 year of academic, internship, project, leadership, research, or work experience demonstrating analytical, organizational, or problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, follow‑through, and a growth mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to AI tools, data analytics, automation technologies, or emerging digital solutions through academic, professional, or personal projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in healthcare regulations, compliance, health plans, pharmacy, healthcare operations, or process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities with attention to detail.
  • Experience presenting findings, recommendations, or project outcomes to stakeholders.
Additional Information

Location:

Interns are expected to work a hybrid schedule, spending three days per week in our St. Louis office and two days working remotely.

Compensation:
Hourly pay ranges from $23.00-$24.00, based on degree program, and year of study.

Work Authorization:
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and not require current or future employment sponsorship.

Enterprise Intern

Schedule:

This is a full‑time summer internship (40 hours per week) running from May 24 through July 30th, 2027. If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10
