The Newmarket Business Improvement District (NBID) is a mission-driven non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the quality of life in the Newmarket neighborhood. Through community-focused initiatives, public realm improvements, and support for businesses and residents, NBID works to create a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive environment for all. Additionally, the BID provides supplemental public safety services, facilitates change in the opioid and homelessness crisis, improves access to public transportation, and enhances traffic flow in the Newmarket area.
The BID advocates for the betterment of the Newmarket area, aiming to improve the quality of life for everyone living, working, and visiting the District.
The Newmarket Business Improvement District (BID) is looking for an Administrative & Development Manager to provide high-level administrative and strategic support to the Executive Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the organization.
Primary responsibilities:
Administration:- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director, including calendar management, meeting coordination and scheduling, BID program support, and office operations
- Support the Executive Director in stakeholder engagement, including preparing materials and other communications and representing the BID at meetings
- Oversee all aspects of Board meeting preparation and follow-up
- Assist in the creation of presentations using advanced PowerPoint skills, and support data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals
- Assist the Executive Director with fundraising initiatives, including donor outreach and campaign coordination
- Oversee planning, organization, and execution of BID activities and fundraising events, including managing logistics, coordinating vendors, communicating with stakeholders, and overseeing event budgets
- Assist with grant applications and supporting grant writing efforts
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and key stakeholders to advance organizational goals
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of administrative, communication, and strategic thinking skills, along with a passion for supporting local businesses and communities. Specifically, the candidate should have:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines effectively
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, resourceful approach to challenges
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and effectively communicate and engage with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, including business leaders, vendors, volunteers, donors, customers, and employees
- Strong skills in Microsoft applications; experience with Canva and other graphic design or digital content creation tools is a plus
This position is primarily in-person, with occasional flexibility for remote work.
The salary for this position is $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience.
