Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Compliance team as a Compliance Analyst II!
About the roleAs a Compliance Analyst II, you will assist in leading project initiatives, serving as a functional expert in specified areas. Responsibilities may include establishing and implementing standard policies, procedures, processes and best practices to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations. Responsibilities may also include assisting with regulatory examinations, compliance monitoring efforts, product design and filing requirements.
A candidate for this role has excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational skills. You will collaborate with various departments, levels of management, including senior management, and internal clients, both independently and as part of a team. You'll ensure visibility into work efforts and that communication is aligned. You will demonstrate an ability to review complex information to distill critical issues and make recommendations that consider risks, benefits and alternative perspectives for management's use.
You will bring strong Microsoft skills (excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint) and ability to work with Data Analytics and/or Technology teams to develop automated solutions and reports to support the program. Some use of artificial intelligence (AI) is preferred, along with a general desire to learn more about and leverage AI.
- Assist in leading project initiatives, collaborate with leadership in decision making, independently interact with internal clients, and act as a functional expert on assigned projects in support of Symetra's producer oversight and third-party suitability programs
- Independently manage special projects and regulatory analysis as needed

$72,700 - $121,100 annually plus eligibility for Company Annual Bonus
Who you are- High school diploma required
- College degree of equivalent experience required
- At least 5-8 years years of experience supporting producer oversight and suitability programs
- FINRA Series 24/26 required
- AIRC and/or FLMI designation preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of annuity and life insurance products including Registered Indexed-Linked Annuities (RILAs)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to support evolving business needs and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to translate regulatory requirements into operational practice and apply a broad perspective to challenges
- Ability to review, interpret, and analyze documentation and data for accuracy, relevance, and compliance
- Experience using and implementing productivity tools including data analytics and AI-driven solutions
- Effective in both independent and collaborative environments; comfortable advising senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, and other business productivity tools
