MT & Associates (MT&A), a growing woman-owned sign language and accessibility solutions firm, is seeking a Business Development Specialist with government contracting and proposal experience. You will identify, pursue, and help win new business with federal, state, corporate, university, conference, event, and private-sector clients.

This is a hands-on growth position, not solely a contract administration role. You may evaluate a federal solicitation, coordinate a proposal, contact a prospective client, update the opportunity pipeline, and support a marketing or networking initiative. Your work will directly influence MT&A’s growth.

Key Responsibilities Business Development & Client Relationships
  • Identify and qualify opportunities across government and commercial markets.
  • Research prospective clients and develop outreach and follow-up strategies.
  • Build relationships through calls, virtual meetings, networking, conferences, and other client-facing activities.
  • Expand service opportunities with existing clients.
  • Manage opportunities from identification through submission, follow-up, and outcome.
Government Contracting & Proposals
  • Research federal, state, local, and other government contracting opportunities.
  • Review solicitations for fit, requirements, deadlines, evaluation criteria, and compliance.
  • Develop and coordinate responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, sources sought notices, and other solicitations.
  • Prepare capability statements, compliance matrices, past performance narratives, resumes, and supporting proposal materials.
  • Track proposal deadlines, contract requirements, deliverables, and modifications.
  • Support contract administration, documentation, reporting, and invoicing as needed.
Pipeline, Marketing & Process Management
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity stages, deadlines, activities, and follow-up tasks.
  • Manage proposal document control, version tracking, reviews, and submissions.
  • Support marketing content, website updates, campaigns, conferences, and client outreach.
  • Develop and improve standard operating procedures and business development processes.
Required Experience

We need someone who can contribute quickly and understands government contracting and/or federal acquisitions from the government, contracting, proposal, or vendor side.

Experience in several of these areas:
  • Government contracting or federal acquisitions
  • Proposal development, solicitation review, or contract administration
  • Business development, sales, outreach, or client relationship management
  • Capability statements, past performance, or compliance documentation
  • Researching and evaluating government opportunities
  • Managing deadlines, deliverables, modifications, or submissions

  • USA Spending.gov
  • Gov Win or similar platforms
  • GSA resources and schedules
  • CRM platforms
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with FAR requirements

Position Details

  • Salary: $50,000-$55,000 annually
  • Remote/hybrid; onsite work is uncommon but may occasionally be required
