Strategic Account Manager – Medicaid

• Provide leadership for state relations, stakeholder engagement, and governance for the North Dakota Medicaid line of business

• Maintain partnerships with state agencies and ensure regulatory confidence

• Serve as primary point of contact for external stakeholder relationships

• Complement the Operations Manager's focus on operational performance, compliance, and day-to-day execution

• Understand client and state agency needs and recommend strategies and programs to achieve business objectives

• Anticipate partner needs and proactively provide support

• Drive cross-functional coordination across a matrixed organization

• Align external commitments made to state agencies with internal operational execution

• Act as first point of contact for escalated issue resolution

• Proactively manage risks and develop contingency plans

• Work with the Strategic Relationship Director to monitor regulatory, market, and competitive conditions

• Anticipate changing priorities and implement strategic adjustments

• Lead introduction and implementation of new products, program enhancements, and strategic initiatives

• Execute initiatives in accordance with a multiyear business plan

• Ensure sustainable processes and consistent delivery on service level agreements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Marketing and 10 years of health plan and/or account management experience, including experience servicing large group accounts, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic account relationships
• Experience working with government or state agency partners
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid managed care programs
• Experience building relationships with state Medicaid agencies, regulators, and other key stakeholders
• Experience managing contractual commitments and strategic priorities
• Experience leading collaborative strategic planning
• Experience developing supporting documentation and financial business cases
• Experience driving operational execution
• Ability to balance customer and regulatory partner needs with business realities
• Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, Medicaid programs, and federal and state legislative and regulatory issues
• Experience developing and delivering presentations to customers, state agency partners, and internal stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to manage escalations, identify risks, and develop contingency plans
• Experience with AI tools and technologies highly desired
• Strong internal and external communication skills
• Ability to achieve goals through influence and advocacy across a matrixed organization
