- Conduct in-depth analysis of agricultural commodity markets, including supply, demand, pricing trends, and trade flows.
- Develop and refine economic models for forecasting agricultural production, consumption, and price movements.
- Analyze the impact of government policies, international trade agreements, and macroeconomic factors on the agricultural sector.
- Prepare detailed market reports, economic outlooks, and strategic recommendations for management, clients, and policymakers.
- Monitor and assess emerging trends in agricultural technology, sustainability, and consumer preferences, evaluating their economic implications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide economic insights for project feasibility studies and business development initiatives.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in agricultural economic analysis, market research, or forecasting.
- Strong quantitative and statistical skills, with proficiency in econometric software (e.g., R, Stata, EViews).
- Demonstrated experience in building and validating economic models for market prediction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex economic information clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with South African and global agricultural markets is essential for this role in Randburg.
