The Nursing Program Manager for Pediatric Clinical Program Strategy, Design & Integration provides strategic leadership for the development, governance, implementation, and performance of multidisciplinary pediatric clinical programs across Duke Children's Hospital, with particular emphasis on outpatient care. The role establishes consistent infrastructure for clinical program development and translates clinical vision into scalable, sustainable models of care that improve outcomes for children, strengthen the patient and family experience, and support institutional growth and value-based care objectives.

Working in close partnership with physician, nursing, administrative, finance, quality, marketing, digital health, and other organizational leaders, the Program Manager guides a growing portfolio of specialty programs across inpatient and outpatient care settings. The position develops standardized methods for program design, launch, evaluation, redesign, expansion, and long‑term sustainability. This is a strategic individual‑contributor role with no direct reports and is not responsible for day‑to‑day program operations.

How you will make an impact
  • Provide strategic program management for a portfolio of multidisciplinary pediatric clinical programs, with particular emphasis on pediatric cardiac programs and outpatient care; lead annual portfolio planning and align initiatives with Duke Children's and institutional priorities for growth, quality, safety, access, patient and family experience, financial stewardship, and value‑based care performance.
  • Translate physician and clinical leadership vision into program charters, care models, implementation plans, resource requirements, and measurable outcomes; advise leaders on readiness, interdependencies, risks, sequencing, and sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain standardized frameworks, tools, criteria, and governance processes for program design, approval, implementation, evaluation, and lifecycle management; clarify decision rights, leadership accountability, stakeholder roles, escalation pathways, and performance‑review expectations.
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, evaluation, redesign, and expansion of pediatric programs in partnership with clinical and administrative stakeholders; coordinate timelines, work plans, risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, training, and organizational readiness.
  • Support business planning and strategic resource allocation for program development, including staffing models, equipment, supplies, technology, space, facilities, and financial requirements; develop recommendations and monitor program‑level sustainability and value.
  • Establish integrated performance dashboards and conduct structured program and portfolio reviews; analyze trends, identify barriers and improvement opportunities, coordinate action plans with accountable leaders, and support evidence‑based practice, standardization, innovation, population health, and value‑based care objectives.
  • Embed family‑centered care, health equity, and age‑appropriate engagement into program design; use patient and family feedback to guide improvements and coordinate accessible education, communication, and engagement resources.
