Work Itself

As part of our Internship Program, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Have hands on experience and project-based work
  • Attend Orientation, Executive Speaking Series, and learning sessions as an Intern cohort
  • Participate in Mentoring Program and Giving Back Events
  • Network with your peers, your team, and those Allys you find interesting
  • Lead an end of assignment presentation
The Details:
  • Internship Program Timing:
    May 21 - July 31, 2027 (tentative)
  • 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days
  • Project-based work
  • Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify
  • Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.
Consumer Banking:

Consumer Banking is all about the customer. The primary focus of the internship role will be supporting the Invest Product team in executing, optimizing, and analyzing digital initiatives across channels. This intern would help with day-to-day digital deliverables while gaining exposure to strategy, content, analytics, execution, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is designed to provide hands‑on experience in the digital product lifecycle.

The intern will contribute to projects that improve digital performance, strengthen engagement, and support broader business goals.

Intern Key Experiences:
  • Assist the Consumer Banking Invest Product team in creating best-in-class web and app experiences for logged in Ally Bank customers.
  • Support reducing friction and addressing pain points during the moments that matter most.
  • Contribute to Invest product initiatives, helping people understand their money, take action with confidence, and build habits that move them forward.
The Skills You Bring Required qualifications.
  • Rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Available for the full duration of the internship program.
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future.
  • A passion for the financial services and technology industry is strongly preferred.
Preferred qualifications.
  • Technical Skills :
    Excellent technical documentation and organization (including writing Acceptance Criteria/Test Scenarios/Etc.) and knowledgeable in agile software development processes and scrum. Experience with Figma is a plus.
  • Communication skills - strong creative writing skills and verbal communication, ability to present ideas clearly and professionally, and comfort working with multiple stakeholders
  • Problem solving - strategic, problem‑solving, customer-focused proactive mindset, ability to troubleshoot small issues and escape when needed, and openness to feedback and continuous improvement.
