About The CompanyWe are a fast-growing, highly successful consumer products and hardware brand based in the Charleston, SC area. We design and manufacture innovative physical lifestyle accessories and products that are distributed globally and featured in major retail environments. Our culture is collaborative, fast-paced, and built on high ownership, autonomy, and cross-functional visibility.
AboutThe Role
We are looking for a sharp, proactive Program Product Manager to own the end-to-end product development process for our growing product portfolio, from prototyping through production. This role acts as the central hub of our product department, bridging the gap between internal teams and overseas manufacturing partners. You will serve as an internal air traffic controller—driving milestone execution, managing dependencies, and ensuring that our physical products launch on time and to the highest standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities- Own the full product development lifecycle from initial prototyping through mass production, ensuring products move seamlessly through all required gates, stages, and decisions.
- Build, maintain, and drive the master development schedule, including tracking milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and risks using project management software (e.g., Asana).
- Directly manage an on-the-ground overseas contractor/liaison based in Asia who coordinates factory visits, quality and packaging inspections, and translation support.
- Act as the primary operational liaison and firm negotiator with overseas factories and development partners across Asian time zones, holding a strong backbone to protect timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate cross-functional product deliverables across Design, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal, ensuring complete team alignment.
- Proactively identify and surface risks, bottlenecks, and packaging/compliance issues before they impact the schedule.
- Master Product Development Schedule (timelines, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation).
- Product development roadmap and milestone tracker.
- Weekly Product Status Reports tracking project health, pending decisions, blockers, and updates for leadership.
- Asana (or equivalent project management software).
- BOM documents.
- Packaging approval workflows.
- Product sample tracking systems.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience in program management, project management, product management, or a related operations role.
- Direct experience with overseas manufacturing or physical consumer products/hardware strongly preferred.
- Highly organized, exceptionally detail-oriented, and a clear communicator capable of driving alignment across multiple stakeholders.
- A proactive self-starter with a strong backbone—not easily deterred—who can confidently manage tough vendor negotiations and communicate effectively under pressure.
- Experience or comfort managing a direct report or overseas partner across time zones.
- Proficient with project-tracking tools and quick to adopt existing workflows.
- This is a hybrid role based out of our Charleston, SC office (In-office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; remote-flex Friday).
- Standard business hours apply with normal schedule flexibility. Roughly 30% of the role involves liaison work with Asian time zones, primarily handled asynchronously during standard U.S. hours. Occasional calls outside standard hours (approx. 2 to 3 per week) may happen around critical gate approvals or sample reviews. Flex hours offered for this role.
- Base Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Bonus:
Annual discretionary bonus program
