What Your Job Will Be Like:We are seeking Project Planning & Controls Specialists to join our dynamic team. We are active in identifying candidates with relevant academic and work experience in an effort to meet our staffing needs and objectives for either current or near‑term positions.
Selected applicants will be interviewed by a subcommittee of managers and staff. Subsequently, successful applicants will be provided to managers for placement in positions across the Laboratory. These positions require reporting onsite due to the nature of the work.
Candidates are expected to team with others to support Sandia’s mission by adding value, improving operations, offering innovative solutions and appropriately managing risk for the corporation.
Position InformationProject Planning and Controls provides analysis and reporting associated with various project controls deliverables and activities, such as project baseline, work package agreements, cost control, cost estimation, projections, or project reviews, including interfacing with the responsible Control Account Manager (CAM), technical Principal Investigator (PI), and business leads to meet the business requirements, program deliverables, and schedule milestones.
On any given day, you may be called on to:Monitoring project budgets, tracking expenditures, forecasting costs, and identifying cost variances.
Developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules using tools like Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6.
Preparing regular status reports on project progress, schedule adherence, and budget performance for stakeholders and senior leadership
Analyzing project data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
Tracking and documenting changes to project scope, schedule or budget and assessing their impact on project objectives
Coordinating resource allocation and availability to ensure project milestones are met
Working closely with project managers, engineers, peers and other stakeholders to align project plans and controls.
Salary Range:$74,700 - $144,400
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance
