Our 12-week paid internship program offers firsthand experience and meaningful projects that have an impact on our business. Throughout the program, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities that will expose you to various aspects of our industry.

Working alongside our Strategic Procurement team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas:

• Communications

• Finance

• Accounting

• Human Resources

• IT

• Marketing & Merchandising

• Supply Chain

• Sales

In the Strategic Procurement department by:

• Engaging with the Supplier Community:
  We actively seek to build strong relationships with our diverse supplier base across all categories. We are always looking for ways to improve these partnerships and welcome open feedback on what GFS can do better and what pain points suppliers experience when working with us. This continuous dialogue is crucial for mutual growth and efficiency.
• Optimizing Operations through Innovation:
  We have a strong track record of leveraging internal talent for operational improvements. For example, a previous intern successfully automated our truck optimization process, leading to significant efficiencies. We encourage similar innovative approaches and provide opportunities for individuals to focus on impactful, long‑term projects.
• Participating in Key Procurement Functions:
  Our direct procurement team plays a critical role in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management. We also manage indirect spend, ensuring cost-effectiveness across various operational areas. A background in Supply Chain is highly beneficial for these roles, as it provides a foundational understanding of the complexities involved in our global supply network.

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Food Industry Management.

• Must be authorized to work in the US.

• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
