Job Description
Job Summary: This is a full-time remote position. The West Virginia Grant Resource Centers assist local government and other eligible applicants with grant identification, writing, and submission - to develop a stronger grant capacity ecosystem. The focus is on the pre-award process to help communities, not-for-profit organizations, and other eligible applicants identify funding opportunities, put together competitive proposals, and submit complete application packages.
The Grant Centers are looking for an Operations Admin and Funding Navigator with proven ability to work on several projects at once on tight deadlines; understand technical writing, deadlines, and grant eligibility criteria; use creative problem-solving; assist with travel and reimbursement processes; and perform research and data entry. Strong written and oral communication and research skills and a professional, team-oriented mentality are a must.
Some travel is required. This is a grant-funded position.
- Identify and interpret relevant funding opportunities for client projects
- Draft outlines, overviews, and/or checklists of relevant funding opportunities
- Compile research on articles, data tools, and other sources to support grant proposals
- Design and distribute surveys related to proposal-development capacity across industries
- Create materials for an online resource lab
- Maintain meeting records, project files, and other documentation needed for project management and reporting
- Support staff with logistics planning with booking venues, coordinating staff travel and assisting with travel settlements
- Support the Director and PI with tracking project expenses and outcomes and drafting reports based on project progress and survey results
- Assist with the development of proposals, including letters of support/commitment; summaries of notices of funding opportunities/broad agency announcements/request for proposals/funding opportunity announcements; letters of intent; and other written correspondence
- Other duties as assigned by the Director or PI.

Salary RangeSalary Range Salary is commensurate upon education, experience and internal equity
Required Qualifications EducationA Bachelor's Degree is required.
ExperienceGrant writing experience is preferred. Experience in financial record keeping/processes/Banner a plus.
Preferred Qualifications EducationA bachelor’s degree in communications, English, Journalism or similar field is preferred. Preferred skills for this position also include previous grant writing, budgeting, and reporting experience, excellent written and verbal expression. In addition, experience with creating surveys, interpreting and presenting data, and project management is a plus. Candidates with a connection to the region are preferred.
