Job Overview

Eden Brown Synergy is recruiting an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Cared for Children Team at Manchester City Council. This role focuses on supporting children and young people who are looked after, ensuring robust care planning, permanence planning, and positive outcomes in line with statutory guidance.

You will manage a caseload of children in care, working closely with carers, families, and partner agencies to promote stability, safety, and wellbeing. This is an excellent opportunity for a social worker with strong CLA experience looking for a well-supported, office-based role with some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Manage cases within the Cared for Children / Children Looked After service
Complete statutory visits, assessments, care plans, and reviews
Progress permanence planning, including long-term fostering, reunification, and other pathways
Attend and contribute to CLA reviews, care planning meetings, and court proceedings
Undertake direct work with children and young people to support emotional wellbeing and stability
Work collaboratively with carers, families, and multi-agency professionals
Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory requirements

Essential Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (Degree / DipSW or equivalent)
Social Work England (SWE) registration
Experience working within a Cared for Children / CLA team
Strong understanding of care planning, permanency, and statutory guidance
Excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively in an office-based environment
Car user essential
