Job Overview

We are looking to recruit a committed, resilient and experienced Supervising Social Worker, within the Connected People’s Fostering Team.

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will safeguard and promote the welfare of Cheshire West and Chester's children by delivering a high-quality service, keeping children's wellbeing and safety at the heart of your approach.

• Assess potential foster carers and supervise and support them in providing suitable care.
• Conduct robust, analytical assessments focused on the trauma that children have experienced.
• Work across Cheshire West and Chester Borough and beyond, collaborating with other professionals.
• Maintain registration with Social Work England and keep up to date with legislation underpinning social care.
• Provide reflective supervision to social workers and contribute to a culture of shared learning.

• Social Work qualification with at least 3 years post-qualifying experience in a statutory setting.
• Good understanding of working directly with children, families, and connected/foster carers.
• Knowledge of legislative framework relevant to social care delivery.
• Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
