Salary: $140,000 - $180,000 per year
A bit about usWe are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to support vertical and industrial construction projects, with a strong emphasis on federal clients and compliance-driven environments. This role plays a critical part in preconstruction strategy, competitive bidding, and successful project delivery for complex building and facilities work.
This is an estimator-first position: ideal for someone who thrives in vertical construction, industrial facilities, and federal procurement environments, and who enjoys collaborating closely with operations, design teams, and leadership from pursuit through handoff.
Civil/site work experience is a plus, but heavy civil is not the core focus of this role.

Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed, competitive cost estimates for vertical and industrial construction projects, including federal facilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to confirm complete scope, execution requirements, and compliance obligations
- Develop quantity takeoffs and price labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Utilize industry-standard estimating and takeoff software in accordance with established processes
- Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries, labor rates, and equipment assumptions
- Analyze historical project data to improve estimate accuracy and future bid performance
- Identify project risks, constructability concerns, cost drivers, and long-lead procurement items
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare bid forms, pricing exhibits, and supporting documentation for proposals
- Coordinate closely with operations to review schedules, logistics, scopes, and execution strategies
- Support seamless handoff from estimate to project budget and execution teams
- Track bid history and prospective opportunities
- Monitor construction and material cost trends impacting estimates
- Evaluate alternate means and methods to identify cost-effective solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams to support proposal, pricing, and technical requirements
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Advanced ability to prepare accurate budgets and cost estimates for vertical and industrial construction
- Strong understanding of building systems, including structural, architectural, and MEP scopes
- Knowledge of project cost control, revenue models, and cost-to-complete concepts
- Proficiency with estimating and digital takeoff software (experience with tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Heavy Bid, or similar platforms is a plus)
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids under deadline pressure
- Ability to clearly communicate estimate assumptions, risks, and findings
- High attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% as needed
