Title:

Project Manager / Sr. PM. Construction (water and wastewater treatment facilities)

Pay: $115,000 to $190,000.

Bonus: performance-based bonuses tied to company and project profitability.

While our construction portfolio is broad, this role focuses on new‑growth water infrastructure—water and wastewater treatment plants, facilities, tanks, towers and related equipment.

Who

You Are.

You are passionate about construction, strategic, and proficient with Microsoft Project, Procore and other construction management software. You value process, documentation, and safety. You are an adept learner with a strong attention to detail—preferably with experience in water and wastewater treatment facilities or related heavy construction disciplines. You are financial‑savvy, controlling budgets, managing change orders, accurate submittals, and stakeholder relationships. You coach teams, promote safety, maintain clear work sites, and communicate effectively with owners and subcontractors.

Responsibilities.
  • Meet and uphold ACC’s mission, goals, and core values.
  • Direct, monitor, and manage all construction projects accepted by ACC.
  • Lead onsite logistics and safety compliance.
  • Manage project financials: forecasting, budgeting, requisitions, change orders, and profit targets.
  • Track submittals, procurement, and punch list completion.
  • Maintain high quality standards and oversight of field labor.
  • Build and nurture owner/client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross‑department teams on company processes.
  • Operate project software (Procore, Microsoft Project, Microsoft 365, etc.).
  • Maintain RFIs, scheduling, and resource plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Produce project reporting and secure successful close‑out.
  • Innovate project management methods and provide onboarding for new team members.
  • Perform additional duties as leadership assigns.
Education, Training, Key Skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong math skills (algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios).
  • Familiarity with drafting.
  • High proficiency in computers and software learning.
  • Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Project Scheduling.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
  • Excellent typing, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Leading weekly planning meetings with subcontractors.
  • Experience with general construction contracting.
  • Advanced people skills for managing clients, leadership, and crews.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment usage.
  • Experience in water and wastewater facilities, towers, tanks, pump stations, instrumentation, large HVAC, complex electrical, large equipment installation, heavy road or concrete work, or similar construction.
  • OSHA and other safety certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Experience with power tools.
  • Reliable transportation.
Work Environment.

Exposure to outside weather and elements on the construction site; occasional lifting up to 30+ pounds unassisted.

Schedule.

Monday to Friday, with infrequent Saturday support. Daytime schedule aligned with the project team. Expected hours: 50 hours per week.

Work Location.
  • Primary location:
    Headquarters in Hartford, CT.
  • Partial remote work possible based on expertise.
  • Approximately one day per week commuting to job sites in West and South Massachusetts or greater CT area.
