We are looking to appoint a motivated and professional Building Control Surveyor (Class 2A) to join our busy and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered surveyor who is looking to develop their career within a well-established Local Authority Building Control service that is adapting positively to the changing regulatory environment.
About the role
You will undertake a range of Building Control duties across predominantly domestic projects, including plan checking and site inspections for new dwellings and associated works. The role requires a good working knowledge of current Building Regulations, construction methods and compliance processes.
The position is predominantly home based with site inspections and office-based work as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake restricted functions and activities in line with your Class 2A registration
Carry out plan assessments and site inspections on domestic developments
Ensure compliance with the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Safety Regulator requirements
Provide clear, practical advice to applicants, agents and stakeholders
Manage your own caseload effectively with minimal supervision
About you
Registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Class 2A Building Control Surveyor (essential)
Experience in domestic Building Control work, including new build housing
Sound knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation
Good communication and organisational skills
Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
