Job Type: Full-time, 40‑50 hours per week, may include Saturdays.
Work Schedule:
Monday‑Friday with some weekend work.
Position Summary Pioneer Technical Services is recruiting a staff level employee to perform construction inspection and materials testing in Libby, MT. The role includes field inspection services, laboratory testing, and project oversight. Field duties involve density testing with a nuclear density gauge, fresh grout and concrete sampling, shotcrete testing and coring. Laboratory duties include compressive strength testing of grout, concrete, and shotcrete specimens.
Additional responsibilities include data management, equipment maintenance, and sample organization. The employee reports to the Laboratory Manager or Project Engineer. Candidate must have a valid Class D driver’s license.

Essential Functions
- Communicate with contractor or site supervisor regarding testing results and any failures or problems.
- Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
- Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect deficiencies and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes.
- Prepare daily field inspection reports that document project activities and data.
- Conduct materials testing and analysis using provided tools and equipment.
- Perform basic computer tasks including Excel and Microsoft Word.
Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma required; college education preferred.
- Field of Study preferably Civil/Environmental Engineering, Soil Science, or related/equivalent education.
- Basic computer skills with Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Valid Class D driver’s license.
Physical Demands & Office Environment Frequent standing, lifting, exposure to elements, use of wheelbarrow. May require bending, walking, grasping, speaking, manual manipulation, climbing, reaching, squatting or kneeling as necessary.
