Overview

Join Richard, Purpose Builders. We are a growing general contractor focused on meaningful projects and a collaborative culture. We are seeking a Quality Control Manager who will implement and maintain the project quality control plan and ensure construction work meets our standards of excellence.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality control plan and overall quality control for the project. The QCM will ensure each construction project meets the standards Richard Group embodies. The role requires reporting to the project site five days a week and residing within proximity to the project location or surrounding areas. A housing allowance is available for relocation.

Projects typically range from 1 to 3 years in length. The ideal candidate should be flexible and willing to be assigned to other project locations throughout the United States after the initial assignment.

Responsibilities
  • The QCM is responsible for developing and implementing the construction sections of the project quality control plan (including the three phases of quality control) in compliance with Federal, DoD, and Navy requirements.
  • Direct and approve the correction of any non-conforming or unsafe construction work performed under the contract.
  • Monitor and approve the quality of materials, plans, surveys, fabrication, as-built drawings, and other construction-related work to ensure compliance with specifications, workmanship standards, and contract requirements.
  • Review project plans for quality requirements.
  • Plan and organize quality processes such as work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management, incident reports and corrective actions.
  • Direct inspections, testing, and documentation.
  • Have working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Maintain relationships with owners, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
  • Ensure timely and safe completion of projects in accordance with safety goals while adhering to contract documents and project budgets.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with a federal general contracting company
  • CQCM certification and experience administering the three phases of quality control on multiple projects
  • Thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods, and building systems
  • Experience in federal sector projects
  • Experience in healthcare projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam
  • Ability to write and comprehend RFIs
  • Ability to clearly communicate with home office, owner, and subcontractors
  • Availability to work on any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) as hospital construction occurs at all hours
  • Experience in Davis-Bacon prevailing wage projects
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test
  • A desire to stay and grow with a company dedicated to team support through mentorship, accountability, and grit
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Experience managing projects $20M+
