Overview

Location: Bedford, MA
Employment Type & Shift: Full-time benefits eligible
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality control plan and overall quality control for the project. The QCM ensures every construction project meets the standards of excellence required by Richard Group.
The individual will report to the project site five days a week. They should live within proximity to the project location or surrounding areas. A housing allowance is offered to cover relocation costs if needed. Projects typically range from 1–3 years in length. There is potential for assignment to other project locations across the United States after the initial assignment.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement the construction sections of the project quality control plan (including the three phases of quality control) in compliance with Federal, DoD, and Navy requirements.
- Direct and approve the correction of any non-conforming or unsafe construction work under the contract.
- Monitor and approve the quality of materials, plans, surveys, fabrication, as-built drawings, and other construction-related work to ensure compliance with specifications, workmanship standards, and contract requirements.
- Review project plans for quality requirements.
- Plan and organize quality processes such as work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management, incident reports and corrective actions.
- Direct inspections, testing and documentation.
- Maintain working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Maintain relationships with owners, clients, and subcontractors.
- Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
- Ensure timely and safe completion of projects in accordance with safety goals, while adhering to contract documents and project budgets.
- 5+ years' experience with a federal general contracting company
- CQCM certified and has administered the three phases of quality control on multiple projects
- Thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods, and building systems
- Experience in federal sector projects
- Experience in healthcare projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam
- Ability to write and comprehend RFIs
- Clear communication with home office, owners, and subcontractors
- Availability to work on any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) as hospital construction occurs at all hours
- Experience in Davis-Bacon Prevailing wage-required projects
- Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test
- Desire to stay and grow with a company that emphasizes mentorship, accountability, and grit
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience managing projects valued at $20M+
