Position OverviewWe're looking for an experienced Senior
Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic preconstruction team. In this role, you’ll work on high-profile mechanical projects from the comfort of your home—contributing your expertise to multimillion-dollar jobs without relocating or commuting.
You’ll play a vital role in our ability to win work, shape competitive bids, and deliver projects that redefine what’s possible in mechanical construction.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop detailed and accurate mechanical estimates
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimates for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors remotely to clarify scope, pricing, and scheduling
- Develop comprehensive bid packages and client proposals
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
- Maintain up-to-date cost databases and historical pricing metrics
- Provide value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations
- Support strategic preconstruction efforts and client presentations
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience estimating mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping)
- Strong portfolio of work
- Proficiency with modern estimating tools such as Trimble Auto Bid
, ESTmep
, FastPIPE/DUCT
, Bluebeam
, and Plan Swift - Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Trade School, Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Relevant certifications or professional licenses are a plus
