This full‑time Estimator role is a hybrid position based in Stuart, FL, with some work‑from‑home flexibility. The Estimator will review plans, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for site development projects. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs; soliciting and evaluating bids; and preparing detailed proposals and budgets. The role involves collaborating with project managers and field supervisors to clarify scope, identify risks, and support value engineering.
The Estimator will also maintain historical cost data, update pricing, and assist with bid schedules and client presentations.
- Strong estimating and analytical skills, including experience with quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for site development, utilities, roadwork, and concrete.
- Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheet tools, and digital plan review platforms; comfort working with construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment relevant to site development, underground utilities, excavation, and roadway construction.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prior experience as an Estimator or in a related construction or civil engineering role; experience in site development or heavy civil projects is preferred.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
