Job Scope - Social Content & Design Specialist
Role overview
This role is centered around creating strong, on-brand, high-performing organic social content, with branding and broader design work as a secondary focus.
In addition to design, this role plays a key execution and coordination function for organic social media. The individual takes approved strategies and translates them into clear, well-structured organic content plans that are written, designed, scheduled and delivered on time.
The role collaborates closely with strategy, paid media and account management to deliver social content that is both creatively strong and strategically aligned.
This is not a passive design role. It requires thinking, researching, questioning, writing and adapting per client – and owning the organic content workflow from plan to post.
Core focus areas
The designer is responsible for producing high-quality visual content for organic and paid social across multiple clients.
This includes:
- Static social posts for Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, and other social platforms when required
- Carousel posts and story sets
- Paid ad creatives, including multiple variations for testing
- Campaign-specific visuals and launch content
- Social templates per client to ensure consistency
- Adapting designs based on performance feedback and reporting
- Understand platform best practices
- Design with messaging, hierarchy and CTA in mind
- Think in content systems, not one-off posts
- Design for speed without compromising quality
2. Video and motion content
The designer should be comfortable creating and editing short-form video content for social.
This includes:
- Reels and short videos
- Basic motion graphics and animated text
- Editing supplied footage into social-ready content
- Exporting content correctly per platform
- Advanced motion is a bonus, but not required. Clean, confident, social-friendly edits are the priority.
This role is responsible for managing the execution of organic social media content, ensuring strategies are correctly translated into actionable plans and delivered consistently.
This includes:
- Converting approved social strategies into practical organic content plans
- Structuring monthly or campaign-based content calendars
- Writing clear, on-brand captions in each client’s approved brand voice
- Ensuring messaging aligns with strategy, positioning and objectives
- Preparing posts for review and managing the client approval process
- Scheduling and publishing organic posts via Loomly
- Ensuring content goes out on time and as approved
- Flagging gaps, risks or improvements in content plans proactively
Important:
This role does not manage paid campaign setup or media buying. Paid involvement is limited to creating the visual assets only.
4. Brand application and visual consistency (Secondary focus)
Branding is not the main function, but the designer must be strong in applying brands correctly and confidently.
This includes:
- Applying existing brand identities across social and digital touchpoints
- Creating brand packs and social guidelines when required
- Logo design and light brand development for new or smaller clients
- Ensuring visual consistency across platforms and campaigns
The focus here is application and refinement, not deep brand strategy.
5. Digital and supporting design work
From time to time, the designer will assist with broader digital design tasks.
This may include:
- Website banners and digital assets
- Email headers and HTML email signature visuals
- Digital ads beyond social where required
- Light print design such as flyers, posters or event collateral
6. Research and industry understanding
This role requires thinking, not just execution.
The designer is expected to:
- Research client…
