• Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily, including breaking stories and reported features
• Collaborate closely with editorial, audio, and social teams to ensure cohesive, timely coverage across platforms
• Identify and elevate emerging stories relevant to Black audiences with context
• Package and optimize stories with compelling headlines, visuals, and captions for web and social distribution
• Participate in real-time coverage during breaking news moments, coordinating closely with teammates

• 1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
• Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles, headlines, and social media copy
• Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing software (e.g., Photoshop)
• Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred, but not required with strong experience

• Strong writing and editorial judgment with a genuine love of news and cultural conversation
• Experience publishing or promoting content on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, and emerging networks
• Collaborative communicator who works well across teams and disciplines
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptable and responsive during breaking news and evolving coverage
