Content Creator
Location:
Remote – must be within 2 hours of Cambridge.
Scotty's Little Soldiers supports bereaved military families. As a Content Creator you’ll produce short‑form video and photo content that tells compelling stories and engages our audience across social media.
Key Responsibilities- Film and edit short‑form video (e.g., Instagram Reels, Tik Toks, Stories) for our social channels.
- Capture and edit photography from events and outreach activities.
- Identify and attend opportunities to film team members and events.
- Adapt trending topics into content that suits our tone, audience and brand.
- Use tools such as Cap Cut, Canva, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush or iPhone editing apps to deliver content quickly and efficiently.
- Add subtitles, transitions, music and graphics with accessibility and brand consistency.
- Maintain an organised archive of content and assets for reuse across campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Social Media & Marketing Executive and Head of Outreach on the content calendar and campaign planning.
- Generate creative ideas and spot content opportunities.
- Work to brand guidelines while retaining creative flexibility and sensitivity.
30‑Day:
Understand mission, audit assets, demonstrate tone, agree KPIs, capture at least one live event.
60‑Day:
Deliver consistent high‑quality content, contribute to campaign ideas, repurpose content, manage own calendar, own video archive.
90‑Day:
Become go‑to person for authentic content, show impact through metrics, balance creativity with sensitivity.
- Strong portfolio of short‑form social content with measurable results.
- Experience using mobile editing tools (Cap Cut, Canva, InShot, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and anticipate briefs.
- Visual judgment for Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook, and Linked In.
- High emotional intelligence for sensitive subject matter.
- Willingness to travel within the UK for events and occasional evenings/weekends.
- Passion for Scotty’s mission and storytelling.
- Accessibility best practice (subtitles, inclusive framing).
- Experience in live or fast‑moving environments.
- Basic understanding of social platform performance analysis.
- Interest in community building beyond polished content.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
