STORYWe start out early in the life of their child. They’re so small and vulnerable — just a wee baby. But their parent is there — holding their tiny hand, watching over them, never too far away.
Then come the tantrums. It’s the toddler years full of BIG emotions, but they still look so small. Everything is serious— sometimes almost tragic.
As it is with parenthood, those moments pass quickly and morph into happy days. Now, there is action. The child is on the move — gaining independence and looking away from their parent, towards the future. But they’re still pretty close. The child still needs them.
The child is older now and the parent is an outsider — further away. This teenager is engaged in other activities with other people, but the parent is still there — across the kitchen, across the sport’s field, in the audience at their graduation.
Now they’re looking at their parent and smiling, if only for a brief moment. That’s all the parent will ever need.
