Editorial Internships: Ohio Magazine

Ohio Magazine continuously seeks editorial interns to assist with the digital and print sides of our magazine. We are looking for students who are seeking experience in reporting and writing stories as well as contributing to our social media channels.

Ideal candidates are entering their junior or senior year and are journalism or English majors; recent grads are welcome to apply. We invite editorial department interns three times a year to apply for consideration.

• For winter/spring time period:
  Deadline is Nov. 29, 2024.
• For summer time period:
  Deadline is April 7, 2025.
• For fall time period:
  Deadline is July 7, 2025.

This is an unpaid internship conducted remotely. Scheduling and hours are flexible. This internship is similar to training which would be given in an educational environment during an academic calendar.

Intern duties include fact-checking, researching stories and listings, writing short articles for our magazine and website and compiling some of our special editorial sections. There are also opportunities to contribute to our website and social media channels. Recognition is given in the magazine and online for a job well done.

Our interns are highly valued and are integrated into the editorial team and play a contributing role in our magazine’s content. Interns are given plenty of opportunity for professional development.

We are looking for students who are solid writers with knowledge of AP style and strong spelling, punctuation, grammar and phone skills. Social media experience is a plus.
