Zoo Media is expanding boldly into the world of books, magazines, educational materials, and multimedia publishing — and we’re looking for detail‑oriented, motivated interns who want to learn the full publishing pipeline from the inside. Our mission is to empower youth and emerging creators through accessible storytelling, digital literacy, and innovative media formats.
This internship isn’t about busywork. You’ll be embedded directly into active publishing projects, gaining hands‑on experience in manuscript development, layout and design, metadata optimization, print‑on‑demand systems, and cross‑platform distribution

- Assist in transforming raw manuscripts into polished publications across print, digital, and audio formats.
- Learn the fundamentals of editorial workflow, manuscript preparation, and production timelines.
- Gain hands‑on experience with platforms such as:
- Amazon KDP
- Ingram Spark
- Additional print‑on‑demand and digital publishing systems
- Learn how to manage metadata, ISBNs, barcodes, pricing models, and distribution logistics.
- Work alongside editorial, design, copyright, video, and social media teams.
- Support cohesive publishing campaigns that integrate visuals, messaging, and multimedia elements.
- Assist in formatting books, magazines, and educational materials using tools such as:
- Microsoft Word
- Adobe In Design
- Canva
- Support layout, design, and experimental publishing formats.
- Contribute to outreach strategies targeting libraries, schools, bookstores, and educational platforms.
- Assist with marketing collateral, press releases, newsletters, and social media campaigns.
- Learn about self‑publishing, audiobook production, multimedia packaging, and emerging digital formats.
- Understand how youth‑centered content can be adapted across platforms and audiences.

, Fridays @ 8:00 AM MST - Academic background in Publishing, Journalism, English, Communications, Media Studies
, or a related field. - Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Interest in books, storytelling, digital publishing, or educational media.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Google Docs; familiarity with Adobe InDesign or Canva is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and meet deadlines.
- Immersive, hands‑on training in publishing across print, digital, and audio formats.
- Direct experience with industry‑standard tools and distribution platforms.
- Mentorship from professionals in publishing, content marketing, and media development.
