Kids & Art Foundation is a Bay Area–based nonprofit that uses the power of creativity to help children and families cope with the stress, anxiety, and trauma of pediatric cancer and other serious medical conditions. Through professional artist-led programs, we create moments of joy, connection, and normalcy during an otherwise overwhelming journey.
Our work is deeply relational, collaborative, and mission-driven. We are a small team that values kindness, creativity, accountability, and shared ownership. We believe how we work together matters just as much as what we create.
About the RoleThe Communications & Storytelling Lead plays a central role in helping Kids & Art share its story with clarity, care, and heart. This position helps more people understand who we are, why our work matters, and how they can be part of it through thoughtful, authentic storytelling.
This is a hands‑on role well suited to someone who brings strong judgment, creative skill, and emotional sensitivity to their work. The Lead works closely with the CEO, Program Director, Development Manager, designer, and external publicity support to curate and share meaningful stories that reflect the lived experiences of our community.
Storytelling at Kids & Art is a shared effort. This role curates, shapes, and elevates stories in partnership with program, development, and leadership team members, rather than generating all content independently.
This is a part‑time, hybrid position of approximately 20 hours per week. The role includes a mix of remote work, in‑office collaboration in Burlingame, CA, and time spent at select Kids & Art programs and events throughout the Bay Area. Priorities are set collaboratively with leadership to ensure the scope of work remains sustainable within a part‑time schedule.
During weeks with events or increased program activity, focus shifts toward real‑time storytelling and content capture, with other communications work flexing accordingly.
