City Manager's Office: Office & Communications Intern

Responsibilities

• Assist with office coverage and general resident assistance. Answer phones and greet visitors.
• Assist with content creation for the City of Oxford for our social media channels and website. Make routine changes as needed and draft articles/content to share city updates with our residents.
• Create a social media editorial content calendar and implement social media strategy across a variety of platforms.
• Write press releases and articles for submission about important updates about the City of Oxford.
• Assist with adding metadata tags to digital content to improve record searching.

• Friendly and personable
• Flexible and have the ability to switch gears on a variety of tasks and projects
• Excellent writing skills
• Ability to communicate with a variety of personalities: residents, Council members, visitors, etc.
• Strong social media skills
• Web content experience or willingness to learn
• Graphic Design experience or willingness to learn
• Enjoy living and participating in events in Oxford, OH.

• Up to 15 hours a week.
  • Flexible schedule, normally between 8:00 - 5:00 M-F.
  • Prefer lunch coverage between 11am - 2pm at least 2x a week
• Located in Oxford Municipal Building, 15 S. College Ave.
  • This position does not allow for remote work at this time.

• Employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, see, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands, reach with hands and arms, speak, hear, and lift/move up to 50 pounds.

• Work is typically performed in a normal office environment; however some time is spent outdoors and out in the community.

• Current student with any combination of education, training, and work experience that provides the required skill sets to perform the essential functions of the job.
