Summary
The MCBA Prize and Shop Admin Internship will support the MCBA Prize, our biannual international artist book award, through photography, web support, and online shop administration. An ideal candidate would be interested in product photography and online product management. This person will work cross-departmentally with the Shop Director, Exhibitions Director, Consignment Coordinator, and Tech/Admin Coordinator.
Primary areas of learning include (but are not limited to):
- Assist in tracking and adding MCBA Prize submissions to the archival site ahead of MCBA Prize Virtual Award Reveal
- Support with artwork intake for MCBA Prize work and Artist Consignment work
- Add MCBA Prize sellable pieces to MCBA’s online shop (Squarespace)
- Photograph MCBA Prize work and edit images for web listings
- Assist with content creation for the MCBA Prize and Shop at MCBA
- Other consignment-related online shop and admin support
- Term: July – December 2026
- Schedule: 8–10 hours per week
- Misc: The majority of intern work will take place at MCBA in downtown Minneapolis (limited free parking available). Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, but remote work requires that interns have access to a computer and a secure internet connection.

- Familiarity/experience with Squarespace
- Familiarity/proficiency with social media platforms
- Attention to detail
Intern will receive a $1,000 stipend and a short-term (3-month) Collective membership for the duration of the internship. In addition to on-the-job educational experience, interns receive a free one‑year membership to MCBA, which includes a 10% discount on workshop tuition and retail purchases. After completion of 100 hours, interns may register for a tuition‑free MCBA workshop of up to 12 hours
